New York Sets All-Time Record $250.6M in January as $2 Billion Streak Hits Six Months

New York's mobile sports betting market set an all-time revenue record in January 2026, with operators reporting $250.6 million in gross gaming revenue on $2.44 billion in handle. It was the state's highest monthly revenue total since mobile wagering launched in 2022.

January also marked the sixth consecutive month in which New York handle topped $2 billion — the longest such streak in the market's history. The NFL playoffs, which run through January, were a major driver of the volume.

A Maturing Market

The record underscores how entrenched legal sports betting has become in New York. At the 51% tax rate, a $250.6 million revenue month sends well over $120 million to the state in a single month, the bulk of it earmarked for education.

FanDuel and DraftKings again led the market, a duopoly that has held steady since launch even as smaller operators have entered and exited.
